Default Help w/ factory HID system

Gentlemen, here is the help i need

My friend is letting me switch out his factory HIDs from his 2008 C/S GT to my 2007 GT without HIDs

What is it that we need to do to switch these out successfully. I know that we will be switching the headlight assy, ballast, but I also know that there is normally a relay that is needed as well. Can anyone provide an assist ASAP. We will be doing this tomorrow. I believe the bumper cover has to be removed.

Thanks everyone for the help!

PASCAL, I may call you for some pointers!

thank you

jose

Its alot more than a relay you will need the hid harness from ford ($130) and some diodes from radio shack...And you need to be pretty skilled at wiring...

All you need is the headlights and the wiring harness that connects to them. The ballasts are built into the headlight housings and the wiring harness has the relays. Here are the directions I used when I put the oem HIDs on my car http://www.steeda.com/directions/162...steeda_hid.pdf

^I'd use the diodes to be safe...I guess there has been a few fires on cars that didn't use the diodes...

Im not sure why they tell you to use diodes in that link. You absolutely do not need anything other than the factory harness with the relays and fuses. Ive had the factory HIDs in my car for 1 1/2 years and it works great

Here is my question.

His factory 2008 should have the harness as well correct? When I called Ford, they told me it was a $60 part that they did not have in stock, but would appear that it should already be in his car.

What I'm doing is switching them out, he is getting the lights from my 2007, and I'm getting his HIDs from his 2008. His car should have everything I need, so I think?

opinions?
