I just tried not to stay at a consistent RPM for the first 600 miles. I still gave it plenty of WOT though.

Im still at under 600 miles, but I've driven fairly hard. Every time I drive it, I do a couple high RPM passes through about the middle or top of 3rd gear. Made a couple passes to about 100 or so. Also, if Im going a speed where I could be in say either 3rd and be reving a little high, or in 4th and reving a little low, I'll pick 3rd.

But I also keep from staying at one RPM for a while as per advice I've heard here.

All in all, I'm breaking it in like I'll probably drive it always.

Why is it that people feel that what the manufacturer tells them is wrong? They have been doing this a while and I think they know a little bit more than the typical shade tree mechanic.
