Default First rainy day :-/

So i was at a 4 way stop at night and i hit the gas and my tires started spinning. then all the sudden it started spinning everywhere and i drove into the back of a truck in a driveway. would have hit the house but his truck stopped me. havent even had it 2 weeks. i dont know if i totalled it or not, didnt really get a good look. the engine was still running so im hoping that its just body work

Oh no! I wish you were kidding. Is this your first sports car? Very concerned I might suffer your fate. I hope you are OK, minus your pride of course.

Stick or Auto?

The first person to ask for pictures is going to seem like a rubber-necker on a freeway slowing down to take a gander at a crash scene.

But with your post hinting at some feedback regarding if it is a total or not, we'd need a peek at the situation.

In any case, the fact that you're even able to post means you're alive -- and no mention of injuring others (good) -- and no house damage, at least.

Please keep us up to date, and in the loop -- as you see fit.

woww, im sorry to hear about that! thankfully you're okay though! to lose control and possibly total your car from just trying to get through a stop-sign seems a little crazy if you weren't stomping on it off the line. i feel your pain tho - especially with your car being so new. Oh well, look at the bright side; this could be the start to a very wonderful gt500 conversion!

Wow. But that sounds pretty strange. Been driving more than a few weeks? First time driving at night? I suppose you can consider it lucky that the guyz truck (in his driveway?) stopped you from hitting his house when you went to pull away from a stop sign...

Maybe you need a better story for the insurance company. And hide the weed.

Hmmm. Traction Control?

Why didn't you lift. I mean, how hard were you trying to drive it?

Sorry you wrecked your car. That sucks. Glad you are okay.

But it seems beyond reasonable that you were "just cruizin away from the stop sign and all of the sudden........"

Perhaps there is more to the story than you are telling?

i had traction control off and was messing around. it was my fault i know, but i wasnt drinking or anything. i wasnt going real fast, i didnt have my seat belt on and i barely moved out of my seat. the air bag didnt go off either. its my first rear wheel drive car. ive had a 94 camry and an 02 monte ss so i wasnt used to the power. the guys truck isnt that bad. i drove by an looked at it. my insurance covers up to $100,000 of other peoples property. if its totaled does anyone know what the car would be worth so i know what i might get from the insurance? im not really sure how it works.

Depends on your particular insurance underwriter.

I see many insurance companies now offer this "New Car Replacement" if your car is totaled with X number of months/years of ownership. I'm guessing this is an option you must add to your coverage, and is not automatic.

But in some instances, even if you don't have this "New Car Replacement" option, having owned it for only 2 weeks, they may give you full replacement value.

Back in the day, I had a vehicle which was totaled (by someone else in a hit/run situation) after owning it for a full 4+ months. My insurance company gave me the full purchase price for the vehicle.

Heed Nuke's advice: get your facts in order before reporting it.
