That does seem like a long time to get delivered. Hopefully it is just on a large truck and the guy is having to drive all over the country making drop offs. Unfortunatly, more likly then them loosing it, its some sales person getting greedy and selling it off the lot. If you got a vin and a shiped confirmation, it shouldnt take them more then a few minutes to get you a good idea on where its at.

I would definitely wait it out....you'll have this car for a while. Don't do something you'll regret.....even though getting the red gt isn't necessarily night and day. There is a decent power difference, but gas mileage won't be affected too much, if you aren't over 70-75 mph.

Well, here's the deal. I call the dealership and they don't know where it's at. They tell me that they have called the people in memphis that work at the ramp (the people who should know where the car is at), and they don't know either. I don't think the dealer is selling it out from under me as the dealer is friends of a friend of mine. I trust them.

I may have another deal though. On this red one. I think im going to buy it and have the 3.73 gears installed on it. Reason is, the red one is about $600 cheaper than the one I ordered. So the deal i'm trying to work is that they sell me the car for the same price as the one I ordered, but then they also order the gears (about $500?) and install them.

the gears are only like 150, its the labor for the install that costs money. The dealer should be able to do it for you, but if there swaping the gears anyway, it doesnt cost any more to go to the 4.10s

Someone correct me if Im wrong, but doesnt the dealer usually charge around 700-800 for gear install? I think thats what someone here on the forum found.

Also, if you dont get the 3.73 from the factory, you dont get the better brakes and tweaked stability control, whatever that is.

Well, looks like I am going to wait on the one I ordered. I just wish someone could tell me where the car is. Talked to the dealer yesterday and they said they still don't know.

Oh, and you are right Raven. The dealer quoted me $700 for the gear install.

Update!!

Well, we found my car.....it's still in michigan. I called ford customer care and they say the car as listed as "in transit". According to them, it is not sitting on a lot somewhere, it is on a rail car and is on its' way, however, there is a short term delay on the rail car..mechanical failure apparently. Hopefully they will get the rail car moving today.

In any case, does anyone know how long it will take to get the car from michigan to memphis, tn via rail car? Do they run the train straight through or does the train have to make stops along the way?

I hope that by next wednesday, the car will be in memphis and I can go pick it up from the ramp.

Default Build Time

The whole thing is a mystery to me .. has something to do with dealer allocations, etc..

I ordered a GT Convertible Premium, Kona Blue ext, Saddle int, Nav, rear Camera, 19" wheels, comfort package, etc...

Ordered 9/22
Delivered 11/3 ...

Which was preety sweet because the factory incentive went from 1500 cash back w 0% for 36 months ... to 2000 cash back w/ 0% for 36 months on 11/2. So the extra day saved me $500 bucks ... made me feel a little better about springing for the Nav system ... unfortunately, you can't do the 3.73 upgrade on conv, don't know why.

Still can't believe it doesn't have the Homelink system, that's just **** poor.

I looked at my order today to see when I ordered mine. Oct 26th.. Not quite a month yet.. Still no sticker showing up online.. Was hoping I could get updates as far as the different admin stages it was in from start to finish.. So far I haven't been able to get anything.. Got told we had a Vin number and that was it..

Any one know what the number is to Ford Customer Care.. The one you are supposed to be able to call to get a line on your vehicle.. Don't think I will be happy just taking the word of the dealership should I start to get to the point you are with your ride..

Good luck with whatever you decide..
Dude, same thoughts as you. I ordered my Mustang on 4 Aug, and I just found out yesterday it was 2 weeks late getting to the port... so best case scenario is me getting the keys to the car o/a 23 December! I hesitate to state my real feelings on the matter... I am sure there are minors that frequest this forum

So true. Would be so nice to order a car like ordering a computer/starbucks. You pick the exact combination of features that suit your tastes and pay the price.

Hah! And have FedEx deliver it so we can track it online :-)
