Lower Control Arm Suggestions
Hey guys. I been thinking about getting some new LCA's because I get some nasty wheel hop from time to time. I figured I would take advantage of some black friday deals since I plan on going S/C once spring comes around and these will be a must! I have been looking at these and cant decided:
Steeda
Mustang GT Lower Control Arms Steeda (05-10)
and
Mustang GT Billet Lower Trailing Arms Steeda (05-10)
BMR
05-10 MUSTANG TUBULAR LOWER CONTROL ARMS BMR
and
05-10 MUSTANG GT BILLET CONTROL ARMS BMR
Is Billet even worth the extra $100 or so?

You really can't go wrong with any of the major aftermarket LCAs as the key is having a more rigid bushing. I purposely bought the Steeda billet LCAs for the looks knowing they would also deliver on peformance.
Here's a great deal on some new BMR billets http://forums.corral.net/forums/show....php?t=1178081

UMI Performance anti-wheel hop stage 1 kit (LCA's w/ relocation brackets). They're tubular, look great, eliminate wheel hop and help put better traction down, and the cheapest (their sale might still be going on!) by far. I has them.
Billet is a complete waste of money for LCAs. They're no stronger than tubular but cost A LOT more. Plus you can't see them that well anyway.

For a show car, I'm sure that it is.
For a street-driven car that is never driven harder than "moderately", maybe. Consider "moderately" to be just a little harder than the way average traffic drives, without being a lot harder.
For a race car or high-HP street driver that uses the power frequently, I'd intentionally avoid it as I suspect that the fatigue resistance of aluminum billet isn't quite as good as either a steel weldment or properly designed adjustables. Especially if there's a wheel hop issue for any reason.

There are so many but I will say, if you have the extra cash to blow....Blowby Racing has the best looking LCAs on the market. And you can see them when you are next to the car. They are the same price as other billets, but if you want the looks too....I don't think these can be beat.
