05 Mustang, Im going to take care of most the bulge by extending the width. All i need to do is measure if i have 20mm to spare and i should be fine? I would think the height would stay the same since im going from a 35 sidewall to a 30.

Are you doing this pretty much for the look then?

mygt500, I planned on having the wheel extended to either a 10.5 or 11, i still want it to bulge a little over the wheel to protect them from curbs. Obviously i want them to fit within the fenders if not right at them, so is this possible to achieve without ripping the car up?
I've seen companies out there can widen wheels, but this is accomplished by adding width to the inside of the rim. You'll have to look at the underside of the car and see just how far the inside of the current rim is from anything else and then make a judgement call on how wide you think you can go....and I can't remember exactly, but width could only be added in certain increments, like 1/2" or 1"...

I don't agree with the borderline ricer comment on a wide tire, lol.
I guess Vipers are rice eh?

In all fairness to ragtop, I think he meant: too big of a tire on a small rim.
335 on 10" rim might look weird if you don't match the front...
But then, what are you gonna do? Put 305s up front?

I love a wide tire at back, but it's hard to not compromise the look up front.

ChiDiddy, we have roll edges on our cars, that allows to be pretty flush with the body work without rubbing those tires.
+1 to Ford on this one!

What size tires does the Viper run up front?

335mm tires.. Better be running a ton of power to justify that. The things probably weigh 40+ pounds each.

Vipers run 335s in the rear. I dont know if you classify having a whipple HO as having enough power to back up the look of it. This is mainly for looks. My current 315s weight a ton already so it wont be much of a change

Vipers are set up for road racing, it's more of a cornering efficiency than a traction thing.
Stock performance is 450hp and 490 in torque.
They run 275/35x18 up front and 335/30x18 at back in Michelin stock mode.
They all go wider on a track though...

Edit: Actually the 09 SRT/10 is now running 345 on a 19" rim at back and packs about 600 Ponies (still 275s up front on a 18" rim)

see my comments above about widening..

here's a company I found on line that does this kind of work....if you ask around, you might be able to find someone similar in your area..

Buy a viper or a vette to get the steam roller look from behind.

My buddy just put 345 on his ZR1 and already had them on the c6 z06 and they look just nasty from the back.

LOL @ rice.......I love friend rice
