Exchange 2010 for 2011

Doubtful, unless the new 5.0 ends up being a real lemon full of issues. Of course one could say that the 2010 is the last 5 speed Mustang so one could choose that to be important. One can't pretend to justify the expense of these cars by hoping it will someday become a collectible.

I don't see myself selling this car so the value down the road isn't a huge concern outside of it getting totalled (eeek!!). The question just poped in my head after I thought about conversation where I hear people saying, "Remember the 19 so and so version of the this-andthat mussle car?" "yeah, that year they only made so many bla bla bla"

Well in that case the 2010 will be one of the rarest modern mustang with annual sales barely crossing 60K units. Last year was over 87K.

I wonder how tapped out the V6 will be now.
When I had my G35, people didn't do ANY mods to the engine, not even tuning them. The thing people did the most was put on the intake tube from the 350z but thats it. After that it was suspension. Most mods did nothing for HP anyway. IF you wanted more HP you got a turbo or a supercharger.
I am just wondering if this v6 is going to be near its limit from the factory or if more tuning/intake/cams/whatever will get more HP out of it.
Then for the V8, they are still keeping the 3V heads right? Or thats what they are predicting right?

The new 3.7L in the 2011 mustangs has a 10.5:1 compression ratio just like the camaro so boosting will be very limited, like to under 6 or 7 psi.

Probably the same thing they have been doing for the past many years that led them down the road to bankruptcy. Their commercials are so incredibly stupid. They always compare themselves to cars that sell better than theirs, but claim that their cars are better in some way. I saw one the other day where they compare the Silverado to the Tundra and claim that it gets 1 mile per gallon better mileage. If I like the Tundra better, I wont be swayed to buy a Silverado because it gets one mile per gallon more. Specially since mileage is very subjective anyway. Their cars are old and boring. The company is old, complacent and boring. The Camaro wont change any time soon, so now the Mustang will have the upper hand, but I'll bet you there will be people still complaining about the solid rear axle.

Glad to see the V6 get a nice bump in power. I wouldn't compare it to a 4.6 3v though, its apples to oranges. The 3.7 is running 10.5-1 pistons...and a high revving motor, it will make good power, but is going to need a set of 4.10s to firmly plant it in the mid 13s. But it will be a 13 second car for sure.
The V6 Camaros have similar issues being a high rpm motor, they are all over the 14's.

Then we started thinking about all of the ugly GM cars. Remember the Pontiac Aztec; The Dust Buster Minivan (Lumina APV?); etc, etc, etc.......
