Default bullit CAI question

just bought a used bullit CAI, it looks like a piece of cake to install, however there are 2 provisions to hook something up on the bottom of the intake tube, they are about 1" or so in diameter, just wondering what those are for because I don't see anything to hook them up to.

Those are for the resonance chambers. you don't need them. Have a look here....

Don't you need a tune with that? Otherwise you'll throw a CEL for running lean.

so what are the resonators for??
I ended up getting some rubber pipe caps from home depot that already came with a clamp and fit right over it and snugged down perfectly. I put the setup on my car with no tune, drove it about ten miles stop and start, however maybe the high altitude keeps it from throwing a code. is there a special bolt to use to bolt the front of the CAI down with, the bolt under it is too fat to fit through the holder.

also are these filters washable and reusable??

Cummins Cowboy, I would recommed you get a tune before you drive you car again. It can seroursly damage your engine to run that intake without a tune. Give us a call monday and we can get you taken care of.

The factory filter is not a "washable" type, but you can vacuum it or use an air hose a blow the crap out of it. Being careful not to damage it of course. Replacement filters are ~32-35 bucks.

i agree with need for the tune. i ran mine for two days no problems, morning of the third i gave it some gas and the check engine light came on. code reader said lean. so off it came and my C&L went back on with the tune.

The CAI w/o the tune is buying you very little performance on it's own; MAYBE 4-6 RWHP. Even an 87 octane custom tune with that CAI will kick azz over the stock 87 tune @ roughly 15-20 RWHP. Definitely call Brenspeed.
