TPMS problems
Hey guys i've had aftermarket rims with 4 new TPMS sensors on my car since march 09. Just last night as I was pulling into my driveway i got a "low tire pressure" message.
I went this morning outside & checked all the tire pressures, & they said 28-29PSI in each. Which is where they should be I believe. I think there 275/45/18. Yet the light is still on in my car. I don't know how to tell if there is a problem with the sensors or which sensor it would be.
Would they somehow mabye need to be reset. My car still has a warranty but I don't think dealership will look at TPMS sensors since there on aftermarket rims.
Also I have a problem with my door handle sticking as well within the last week. Passanger door handle, you know how it pulls outwards a little bit, well it's not retracting all the way back when in the normal position. Any advice on that.

Check the spare tire pressure. Colder weather will reduce tire pressure by roughly 1 PSI for every 10 degree F ambient change. Also, if your gauge is reading a little on the high side you may very well have a tire or 2 at or below the set-point of the sensors (which I believe is 27 PSI). I suggest you consider running your tires a little higher but it really depends on what you prefer handling and ride wise. Every new tire I put on the car, I usually adjust the pressure by 2 PSI increments until I find what suits me. I usually end up between 31 and 36 PSI, depending on the tire.

same here I have the 7 spoke saleens and my light came on yesterday, i have the nitrogen, but anywho i went to the dealer just to refill each tire and the light came off , your tires must be off still for the light to go on..Im glad i bought the Sensors just in case of this problem...

I didn't know spares also had TPMS. Thanks.
OP
I've had the TPMS light come up twice already. When I checked the PSI it was also between 26-28PSI all around. Filled them to 32PSI as according to the door sticker and the light went away after a mile of driving or so.
Seems the TPMS on these cars wants to see the PSI over 30 or so, or else it goes haywire.

I think nuke was joking guys. Lol.
Anyway, I had the light for a little while and then it went away. Was kinda weird, but I think its the temp thing. I say set it to the specified amount and leave it. But then, here in Indy we have erratic temp changes every day.
