Can I drive with the passenger seat out or will it cause problems with the air bag?

I was planning on changing the front seats to Recaro sports, but they are too expensive in Canada. I was gonna drive to Seattle and get them installed from a Recaro dealer there and it would be easier to drive down there with the passenger seat out. This way I'm only bringing back one seat.

So other than the trouble codes would there be any drivability issues with the seat out?

One of my friends had his front passenger seat out for quite a while with no problems. I'm not sure if he had to disconnect any sensors or pull any fuses, but he did take it out.

On the other hand, it's very odd riding in the passenger side backseat while he's in the drivers seat... :-)

I used FatMat, very good & cheep. I don't know why Dynamat wants so much when there are lots of the very same product out for a lot less that work just the same......

Thank you, I'll give it a try later this month and post my findings.
