FYI, just driving around, even for a few hours, is not enough to properly charge a discharged battery. Yes, it WILL provide enough charge to start it back up the next time but you'll be driving around on partially charged battery and most likely on the 1/2 charge side. Considering how finicky our Stangs are to decent voltage, I'd simply put a good 24 hour charge on it.

 

It is a wedge set-up.
You must release the wedge before the tension will release.
Its not the good ol battery terminal you knew when
you were growing up.
Negative side first off and last on for safetys sake.

 

no I'm not kidding, my car is in prestine condition and want it to stay that way...we all have our bug-a boo's abour our cars and mine is to keep mine as clean as possible....

 

My battery went flat in mine a few days ago (In storage). I opened the door and the window didnt roll down like its supposed to. I had an old trickle charger sitting on the bench next to my car, so I just hooked it right up to the battery. I didnt disconnect it or anything. I just hooked it up and instantly got enough juice to roll the window down enough to open/close the door. I left the charger on over night and the car started without exploding or anything, so I guess its fine. I do know when I boosted the battery once with another car, the windows wouldnt auto-roll up after the door was closed... That lasted for 10 minutes then all was normal again.

OP...just put a car cover on and leave it in the garage. roads have rocks on them you know

 

Nice friggen pic of your car Matt !!! I did just borrowed a trickle charger and it didn't leave any marks on the cable ends..My car is left in the garage and I wipe it down every night with a micro fiber wipes. cosco has them 50 for $12 bucks. I live on the part of the Island where it rains twice a year so it never has road grime.

I thought in tropical islands like Hawaii it rained like every 15 minutes? That's what I've heard. Humidity builds up, drops down, wait for next one. That's one reason I don't like tropical places, too much humidity. So Cal is humid enough for me. Deserts are what I prefer. Nice and dry.

Not to steal the thread, but this sounded like it could help my current situation. =D

After I jump started my car a couple days ago, I cannot re-calibrate my driver's side door to pop down when I open the door, or even to auto roll up and I completely pull the switch up. When I try to re-calibrate it, It would hit the top of the inside wall and roll back down. Would never go up all the way unless the door is open. It is as though the computer is thinking the door is an object obscuring the window and pops down for safety. Any Ideas?

 

So you did the "hold the button up for a few seconds and hold the button down for a few seconds" routine after getting the window full up and full down?
