Gears???
If your mostly a weekend driver with the car get the 4.10's... mine sits in the garage most of the year but when I take her out the 4.10's are a lot more fun than my 3.31's were. The old gears just didn't have the punch the new ones have. 1st gear is a little short but if you know how to drive its not really that bad.

You could split the difference and get 3.90's, but FRPP doesn't make them so you'd have to get Motive.
Also, your tire diameter will make a difference. Some put big slicks on the back at the track which reduces the effect of the gears so racers bump up.
These engines need gear. Plus the weight of the car needs gear too.
With my 3.31's at 2500 RPM, which is about 80, I can get 25.5 MPG so it seems to like 2500 quite a lot.
I'm making a bit more power there so hills and things don't phase it. Hills kill my 3.31's.
I was fearing the gear and thought I should get 3.73 to be on the safe side. But since the MPG difference is pretty much none between 3.73 and 4.10 on here and I already get good MPG at 2500 RPM, 4.10's are for me and my auto! Don't fear the gear!
Plus it'll make city better by not needing so much throttle to get up to speed. Better city MPG and hardly a difference on the highway unless you start going 80+. Even then it shouldn't be that bad. There's a member on this board w/ an auto and 4.56 gears and at 70 MPH gets 23 MPG. That's running at about 2800 RPM with a 28ish inch tall tire. Not bad.
However, 4.10's with a twin screw or roots would be too much on the street unless you run slicks all the time.
Now a centri, like paxton or vortech, the higher the gear the better.
Also, more people regret going 3.73 than 4.10s. I read a lot more about how someone got 3.73 and say they wish they would have went with 4.10's. The only ones who go 4.10's and wish for 3.73 are the ones with no traction due to having a twin screw or roots. Even then there's very few.

Stay away from motive gears they have been know to whine worse then any other brands. I am debating the 373s and 410s myself. I am leaning towards 410 because the gas and RPMs are not much diff then the 373, I think only around 200 RPM at like 75. I just have pull the trigger eventually.
I've got FRPP 4.10's & I love them. Besides the obvious difference in speed, the car just plain drives better. Take off from a light with little or no gas. On rolling stops I use 2nd. No problem on the highway unless you like to run 80 mph.
I'm in the bind on gears as well. I'm thinking just drop the 4:10's in and be done. The big question I want to know is what is the MPG difference in 3:55's to 4:10's. Because if I do a gear swap im skipping the 3:73's. I run around 80ish on the freeway alot...due to I honestly have found hand calculated I get better MPG running 80 than i do 70 with my 3:55's. No lie. Just curious with a couple questions.
Will the 410's affect top speed or will you just cruise at his speeds at a higher rpm? So the 410's will get you off the line alot faster but you will cruise at top speed at higher rpm, and the 373's will get you off the line not quite as fast as 410 but you can cruise at higher speeds at lower rpm's? Is that correct?
