Gears???

Gears???
Just found ou that my 09 GT only has 3.31 gears. I was under the impression that I had 3.55 gears. I found out about this when I was getting the info for my tune from brenspeed. Now I need to order gears and have no idea what to get. I basicly use the car as a fun weekend car and I dont race it on the track. I do care about performance and speed but I dont want anything too extreme. Now my question is should I get 355, 373 or 410's? From what I've read 410's might be too much. Any opinions?

Gears are much more complicated than what people recommend. Ideally, you want to get the best gear for your application, driving style, and intended use of the vehicle. If, on the other hand, you just want more pep off the line, then 4.10s are NOT too much for a manual or an automatic.
Also, the difference in fuel mileage between 3.73s and 4.10s is pretty negligible.

my 07 has the 3:31 gears and to be honest I really like them. If you are taking it to the track or drag racing alot then ya I would definatley go gears (4:10s). But for street use, I really like 3rd winding out to about 115-120, Ive never really needed 4th on the street with my basic bolt ons.
Also if you do the 1/4 mile you will be trapping in 3rd and not having to shift to 4th at the very end, which some may think is good/bad...i would think it would be good
the only thing I am worried about with 3:31s is 1/8th mile. I only have 1/8th mile tracks around me for the most part and im not sure how big of a difference the 3.55s would make since you get deeper into 3rd before you cross the beams.
and one more thing, why dont you run 91 or 93 on your tune? I ran 87 on my bamachips tune at first and then switched to 93 performance tune and really liked the difference.

I run the 87 tune for monetary reasons. 93 in my area is about .50 more expensive here and since I dont race ....well I figured I would save some money. When this tank is done I will try the 93 tune just to see the difference. I also dont have my tuner yet, I just ordered it from Brenspeed. I have a friend who has a shop who threw an 87 tune on it. I beleive it may be a bamachip tune but not really sure. My SCT will be here Friday or Monday so I will have more options to play.
