im having this same problem. I cant decide between 3.73 and 4.10. The only thing holding me back from 4.10s is with my MACs already droning on the freeway at 75mph im worried how much worse 4.10s would intensify the drone. I drive freeways ALOT

Me too! I truly believe now that what I was hearing from everyone that the 5 speed in our cars is just meant for 4:10s. Before I switched, what I had to get over was the old mindset of 4:10s in 70's musclecars with 3 speed trannys and turning 4 grand at 60 mph LOL!

Ideally, you want to trap in your 1:1 gear (4th) as deep as possible without having to shift into overdrive.

Nope. There is a nice club on the north shore, but nothing in NOLA as far as I know.

My Bullitt came stock with 3.73s and it's nice for getting off the line quick, and cruising on the highway. I get 16 mpg in the city (Philly) when I drive hard and about 18 mpg when I stay out of the gas. Highway driving I get over 24 mpg. In Alabama my daily drive I average 23 mpg.

At the track I raced other mustangs with 4.10s and similar mods and street tires and they got the jump on me in first gear but by time I hit third gear I started pulling on them. Note: that's just the ones I beat. The mustangs with DRs had at least a car length on me through 1st and at least 2 or three car lengths by 3rd gear; they pull like crazy through all gears. IMO from your statement you should get the 3.73s.

Funny.
I had a friend in High School who had a 67 mustang with the usual Muscle Car Mods for the day including 4.11s in the rear. First was good for burn outs or the first 40 feet depending. Had some good parking lot fun. Freeway wound up the engine good though. Seemed a little on the extreme side to me even for then.

I am well pleased with my 3.73s. I am on the verge of traction problems now.

From 3.31s to 4.10s is a 19% increase in RPM and Torque.
From 3.31s to 3.73s is only a 11% increase.
From 3.31s to 3.55s is a 7% increase.

Ford offers 3.73s in its Bullitt, Trackpak options and the KR. They do not have any configurations with 4.10s

With 3.73s you can get a ford dealer to re-calibrate the speed-o on your stock tune as they have a tool for that. 4.10s are not supported so you will need a 3rd party tuner but you have that covered.

Of course you pays your money and takes your pick.

Ive heard that with autos its better to go with 410s over 373, I am not really sure why that is.
