dude if you haven realized it yet there are 2 types of superchargers (that means belt driven) one that sits on top of your engine (positive displacement) and one that hangs off the from of your engine (Centrifugal a.k.a configural because of the twist in the design)

please learn a thing or two before trying to hound someone.

I know exactly what kind of supercharger it is. Its just that nobody says or have I EVER heard anyone say configural. Sorry if I hurt your feelings.

+1

Paxton, Vortech, and Procharger don't even use the word configural. They use centrifugal like everyone else. By the way, I did a search for the definition of configural and it doesn't even come up in the english dictionary. I just thought configural was a misspelling of centrifugal when I saw it.

EDIT: After searching some more...I still think it's a misspelling.

And since it has low mileage its going to be a long process. I just want to figure out what I want so when they find there way onto the car they all supporting mods.
My point was that you can make enough power to grenade the motor with just the procharger, why add heads for more?

Your original post made reference to keeping the power down.

nottey what exactly is your power goal?
if you want to go anything over 450 RWHP your going to have to get the bottom end built.
now you will find some cases of over 450 RWHP on a stock bottom end but thats mainly luck and easy driving.

now if you want a nice boost in power and be around the 420 to 450 range then any super will do what you want.

a positive displacement charger ( Whipple, Kenny Bell, Saleen, ect... ) will give you move power lower in the rpm band. mainly more torque down in the lower rpm's.

the Centrifugal takes more revs to make the power, so in essence it drives like stock till you wind it up and then the power pours on.

BTW Where in TN are you?
there are several shops in the state that can give you even more info and what kind of power options you can get.

Yes I do want to keep the power to around 430RWHP. I was looking at the heads but are not really an option right now. I now kinda regret posting..lol. I think I have found the sc I am going to go with, the Vortech V3 Si trim with intercooler. Since it doesnt require oil lines and can run up to 12lbs I think it is going to be perfect for me. I want to run around 7 or 8lbs with this system. With the aftermarket intake I just feel it will be a more efficient less constricted setup and will work very nice together. BTW I live in Clarksville TN,it is about 45 minutes north of Nashville. The only performance shop I know of is Delk Performance

Yea I could grenade the motor with just a procharger but with several more lbs of boost that I dont feel comfortable running. With a set of ported heads and intake it would be a better flowing systems that would respond better to boost. If I did decide to go with the heads I would certainly go with forged internals. I got alittle head of myself posting I wanted heads.I just read the livernois article on 3v in the MM&FF and they sound pretty awesome. Just alittle wishful thinking i guess.
