Thank goodness these cars are ultra-tough. I've been up and over several curbs myself in 4 years of S197 and 02' Z28 ownership. I've bent three front wheels on the S197 and immediately knew it. Steering vibration.

lf you don't have steering/wheel vibration then your front wheels are fine. IF you do, a new front wheel is required. I've even had to swap out front dampers due to bent shocks etc. And wheel bearings have caused me some issues. Swapping bearings is pretty easy as well.

Practice, practice, practice. I recommend finding a place were you can practice fishtail recovery safely.. and once you get used to it, recovering from a fishtail will become automatic.... and if you are like me.. fishtailing will almost feel "natural" in certain situations.

The best way to avoid something like this is to be good at doing it.. this way you will have a better idea of what conditions fishtailing will occur.

To me.. being able to fishtail on demand is one of the benefits to owning a rear-wheel-drive car.

Had the same thing happen to me last April. The wheels and rims looked fine at first, but apparently one of the rims had cracked. The next morning I saw that the cracked piece had fallen off sometime while driving home, and the sharp edges where the rim had broken cut my tire and I had a flat. Talk about a decimated wheel..

Also, you might want to check your alignment, because I took my car in and it was off. If you hit a curb that hard, chances are somethings awry.
