Question When is the best time to buy a new 2010 Mustang?

After a 3 year stretch without a Mustang, I'm ready to buy a new one. I'd like to purchase a 2010 because they can be had for much cheaper then the 2011s are going to be. I'm okay with having the 4.6 instead of the 5.0

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone knows what month this year I'll be able to get the best deal on a 2010. I'm assuming it's March or April but I don't know.

Also, I live in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Anyone have a recommendation for a dealer they have had good luck with? Any help would be much appreciated!!

Well for me the best time is this week. The reality is the rebates are set until the end of March. Also if you request Ford to mail you a brochure you should get a $750 private cash rebate. I got mine and it expires also in March. Will the prices go down in April? I think so but the reality is that right now is the time. Right now the dealers still have low traffic on mustangs because the 2011 has frozen the market. I would expect the 2011's will drive traffic to the dealer and provide a better's seller market than right now. Can't sell cars without the foot traffic.

if you honestly dont care about having the 5.0 and can live with a 4.6, i would still suggest waiting until the 2011s come out

that way you can go to a dealer when they are trying to give the the '10s away

I don't really think that will be happening. Ford has not been building that many Mustangs lately for this exact reason. Many dealers around metro Detroit have only kept 3-4 on the lots for a while and that will only get lower now. Maybe in other partsof the country the avg dealer has more but around here (where they do sell a bunch) they just don't.

To the OP if you wait till April you may get to save an additional 1 grand or so (you should be able to get x-plan to start anytime), downside is there will be fewer to choose from. If it were me and I wasn't gonna get an '11 I'd just go ahead and buy when I found the one equipped like I want.

Also depends where you live. In California things aren't discounted as heavily and some incentives have even gone away. If you bought last year you could have deducted the sales tax you paid on your '09 taxes.

probably a few months after the 2011 have been in the showroom for a while, but realize by that time you'll have slim pickings in terms of trims and options available.

It's not that I don't want the 5.0, it's just I don't want to pay extra for it. I've had a SUV for the last few years so I think 315 HP will do just fine for at least a year. At that point maybe I'll look into a supercharger!

I'd really like to get a premium GT with the Track Pack option for around 27,000. I don't know if that's possible but that's what I'm hoping for. I get the X-plan pricing through my employer, so that will definitely help.

And I'll definitely check into that $750 cash rebate! Thanks for the help!!
