Default Drone?

With stock exhaust and addition of Axle back SLP, how bad is the drone? Heard from one shop here in Calgary that a long highway drive will drive you crazy???? true??

Not true. Both my flow 40s and magnapacks had more drone. I have taken long road trips with the magnapacks, so SLP shouldn't be a problem

My LM's have a drone that starts at about 1800 and goes to 2000, not that loud, and I love it as it sounds great from outside, so when I'm driving around and I want a real loud rumble for people to hear outside, I drop it to that point and just hold it, it really turns heads

Today is the first time the wife has been in the car since I added the SLPs. She said it's a lot louder of course I had the windows down. She is concerned that I will get a ticket. I think if I control the throttle, I should be okay. I have had a few cops at different times behind me and have not been pulled over.

Gman, maybe some of what you may be hearing is coming from your pro chamber. As far I can can tell from other post (and my SLP's) is with stock exhaust they sound great. If you change the midpipe or have have LT's, then they tend to get a bit of a trumpeting sound.

That's a good point. I hate doing this, but I may put my stock H back on.

Mine should arrive today/tommarrow. Should get on before this weekend. I have the 3:31 rear gear set, could be another perspective. I drive one way 65 miles to work, any droning and I'll know it. Rpm's usually at 1800/1900 all the way.

Good to consider...i was looking at the different axlebacks but was looking to the future with long tubes and a catted x pipe...

I heard some clips of the Bassani's with an x-pipe and it sounded awesome...might still go down that route eventually.
