i have also sealed my grommets with no luck and the leak is definitely coming from under the passenger side dash. the stealership quoted me $250-$300 bux, but i do no trust them after what they told me.

Please let me/us know what the problem was, ask them to be specific!

Will do, Im just sitting around working until I get that phone call that the car is ready. The repair is costing $315, and fro piece of mind, thats a small price to pay, even if it was Fords original **** up. When I took the car into the dealership today ( and they know my family and parents), the service rep kind of blew it off and for the most part ignored the new TSB printout I gave him. He sat in the car, but no Ford Tech is touching the car today. From what I gathered by numerous old threads Ive read, they probably wouldnt have fixed the leak right the first time.

The good thing about this contracted company that fixes specific water leaks for this dealership is that he offers a 1 year warranty if the problem comes back, so Im fairly confident he will get it fixed. I will definitely try to get a detailed description of where the leak was coming from.

From what I can tell yesterday just from working with her car and a water hose, it wasnt coming from the lower two entry points listed on the TSB, it was coming from the grommet route hole under the dash.

Just called my stealership and they said they will not fix it unless its currently a problem. since I haven’t noticed it affecting my car should i just lie and say it is so they fix it or hope it doesn’t happen and have to come out of pocket to fix it down the road. I’m leaning towards the lying side

Well, this thread was timely.
The comment about the windows being fogged up sounded familiar, so I checked the passenger footwell and it was damp and I haven't had any passengers for over 2 weeks, so it's not like they could have tracked it in. today I noticed a water drop at the bottom of the side panel dripping onto the carpet, so I'll be taking it in for them to deal with it and get it on record so if something happens with the SJB I can blame it on this.

I was driving in some light rain last week, and the lower few inches of the windshield were fogging up in the center only. This was on the outside of the windshield, not the inside. The windshield wiper would remove it. Is this the fogging that has been mentioned?

Nope, it's on the inside, due to the humidity from the water leaks.
The outside one is the result of a temperature difference from inside and outside the car, if you run the A/C it will go away.

This is the area the OP is talking about, those rectangle holes...

Hey Pascal, so can we not just plug these holes? What exactly can we do to stop this? (I haven't had any water leaks so far but by the sounds of this it is going to happen to me at some stage!! Mine is a 2007)

Can't really plug them because the plastic cow cover tabs snaps in there (see pic).
If I was to mess with those grommets, I'd use windshield sealant in lieu of the OEM foam gaskets.

I was running the defroster on low fan speed at the time, but glad to know this is not a problem connected with the water leak issue. I was kind of hoping that maybe the lower center portion of the windshield was hotter because of heat from the engine.

Thanks!

The engine heat doesn't get there, not in the winter time anyway.
As long as it's outside build up, you're good.
