I have the roush version. The first couple days I had them on I was like "wow I can't see crap" but I got used to it. You can see through the slats, but there are times that they do block your view. Not so much while driving, but in parking lots and other places where cars are not always behind or to the side of you.

For normal driving situations the mirrors in combo with checking your blind spot is just fine and they don't bother me at all.

Yes, you can see out those slats. I should have taken the picture of the other side, that side you saw my big white Truck that is 10 feet tall and 24 feet long.

Here's SHR website that has many pictures of Mustangs with those louvers from different angles;

Another question. I assume most of these are plastic. Are they obvious addons when comparing them to the paint job on the car? Meaning, is it obvious to tell they are plastic, and won't keep the shine from a wax job as well, etc.

I wish someone would do a 'brushed aluminum' style paintjob with the slotted louvers, kinda like the Shelby louver covers. That'd look killer

You can buy the SHR Louvers already painted or get them primed. I had a dealer paint mine to match.
The plastic is very durable. On the SHR website they show a picture of a pick-up parked on one just to let you know that it will not break easily.

I love the SHR ones. Too bad I didn't get to jump the gun on them. If I was going to do window louvers in the future, would definitely choose those.
