Thanks everybody for welcoming me in. I've posted a few pictures in my "garage" feature, so check em out.

There were a lot of things that I really liked about the Audi (space, fuel economy), but there were a lot of things that I didn't as well (turbo lag, maintenance costs). I had that car modded (exhaust, intake, Forge diverter valve replacement, Stage I chip, 18" rims), so I am familiar with how fun a modded car can be. At some point, once the Stang is broken in a little, I will probably get an exhaust system system and CAI.

This is a basic question, but since this is the first muscle car I've owned I'm curious. What grade of gasoline does everyone use? The dealer recommended either 89 or 93 octane, but I want an owner's perspective.

Welcome!

The engine will recalibrate itself to operate on either. I prefer the 93. My wallet does not.

I have been running nothing but 93 in mine for the past 2 months and it seems to run stronger...

Congrats on the purchase.
So with the 2011 fever going on did you get a good deal?

FWIW...I ran the first 2 tank fills @ 87. Now I run nothing but 93. There is a difference in torque...not a holy-sh*t! difference, but a difference none the
less. My GT is still totally stock except for a K&N air filter...for now. This Spring I will add either a Tillman or Brenspeed tune and try the 87 again. Running 93 does get a little expensive, but this isn't my DD either. Welcome aboard, Good Luck, and make your own judgement as to whether it's worth it or not. Jon

Talking Welcome from a newby!

Hey I know the excitment. I ordered my 2010 just a little to late so I have to wait on the 2011. Its gonna be awesome though when I get it, the relaunched 5.0. Mustang is the first car I have ever loved but never had the opertunity to own. It is amazing just how one mile in this car will give you a high well beyond any drug. I feel like a kid waitin on Santa. Congrats!
