I have BBK Shorty headers, KandN intake, throttle body spacer and Ford Racing exhaust mufflers on my 06 Mustang GT. My question is do I need to have my computer recalibrated in order for it to run at it's best? Will hypertech or Superchips or Diablo do this for me? Thanks all.

 

First off dump the throttle body spacer! Its good for nothing, sorry. As far as the tuner order an SCT or Diablo with a custom tune for the best results. I'm sure you be very happy..btw nice choice on the headers..they make great sound..

 

The only thing that you mentioned that will benefit from a tune is the K&N intake. Even though some say no tune required, to get the extra power and better throttle response, you should get a tune. I would recommend an SCT handheld for the tuner. I used to use a predator but I definitely like my SCT X3 better as well as the easy usb connection and the livelink software for it.

 

go with a Brenspeed or other good mustang shop tune. You basically tell them what mods you have and they will custom build you a tune. you will notice a big difference. dont go with a Hypertech or Superchips crap tune.

 

Get a Brenspeed tune/intake package with the SCT XCal3 and the new JLT 110mm CAI. That'll give you a whole new car. It's worth every penny even though it may seem like a lot.

That throttle body spacer is 100% useless on an EFI car. All it's doing is slowing you down from the extra weight.

Also, SCT is the only way to go for tuning devices. Very few tuners support DiabloSport and any others aren't worth crap on these cars.
