Default Bung hole angle...

I'm putting a wideband air/fuel gauge in. I'm planning on putting the 02 sensor on the drivers side before the CAT. My question to you is, Does the angle of the sensor matter? Straight up? 45 degrees? Bung hole on the bottom of the pipe. Share you knowledge.

You need a "2 o'clock" angle to avoid contact with residual water in the exhaust system, which will damage your sensor.

So, the sensor enters the top and goes towards the bottom at an angle?

Yes thats right. Just look at your watch. Point towards the center of your watch at 2 o'clock. Thats the preferred angle (or as close to it). you certainly do not want to go past (lower) than 3 o'clock.

Yep just angle the senor side tip down some to any moisture will drip out of the sensor. BUT make sure you leave enough clearance so you can get the sensors screwed into the bung.

Hey now, that's not appropriate language here on the forums...

Mine is mounted in the portion of the cat between where it is welded to the pipe and the inside honey comb portion. Been there for 3 years.

2 o'clock is always the suggestion to keep water out and let it drip if moisture gathers.

Bung about one inch higher than your cat O2 sensor. If you go to high, the WB O2 sensor will hit the bottom of your car. I placed mine on the same side as the cat's bung, just before the cats and one inch higher.
