New tires what should I get??
#11
Do some research. Dry weather they are pretty good. But alot of people ( myself included) have issues with hydroplaning. I got so annoyed with it that I finally just put my stock wheels/tires back on until the rainy season is over here. I have not hydroplaned since. Sucks cuz I miss my nice rims.
But some people say they have no problems at all.
EDIT: If you do decide to go with the Nitto's, check these out. Might be worth your time. This guy has been trying to sell this set since last april.

Not a big fan of the 555s either.
BFG g-Force KDWIIs FTW.
They hydroplane eisier than others with more
tread pattern per inch but I dont drive 80MPH
in heavy rain... so to each his own...
KDWIIs wear nice and stick like snot once hot.

Thanks guys for the great feedback. The tires are just going to be for summer I like to use the stockers for the winter since it's my d/d. Still leaning toward the 555s but I'm going to talk to the tire dealer and ask him about the tires you all listed get a quote on all then go from there. I LOVE this forum always GREAT feed back Thank you all once again!

man get the invos! i have yet to hear ONE person say anything bad about them....555s are nice in dry weather but dont get caught in the rain. invos are only a little big more. The treadwear is awesome, great in the rain, great on dry, great in the turns, great in the straight. just a great all a round DD tire.
i think i got mine for like 700 or so....255/35/20 and 295/35/20

whatever you do...don't go cheap. I stupidly made that mistake 2 weeks ago with some tires for the rear. I knew better, but thought I was getting an amazing deal. Now I know why the guy had 2 brand new tires for $250 on Craigslist. they suck.
I hate my Falken 452's...just got 275/40/18 out back for $310 installed...I want my money back
the 452 is highly rated...but I swear that I had more traction with my 235/50/18 KDWs stockers. maybe the damn 452's will get stickier as they wear. put about 300 miles on them so far and all I've done is slip and slide

I have 255/50 Nitto 555s on the stock 17s (all 4)...had them for about 4-5000 miles and so far in the dry weather they have done real well. I have only had them in mild-warm weather but I bet when texas summer comes I will be getting AMAZING traction from a dead stop. In the rain you have to watch out for standing water or hard down pours. I chose to drive safe in the rain anyways so it has not really affected me too bad.
