Switching from 3.73's to 3.31's will disappoint you and won't save you that much in gas. I'd even put money down that it would take you quite a few years to just break even in fuel savings vs. the cost of the gears not to mention the performance loss.

But let's face it, we bought these cars because they're fast and look sharp; not for economy. Getting over 22 MPG highway with a high performance V8 is already a bonus.

My V6 gets and average of 18.5. That's 50/50 city/highway. Lots of traffic around here.

Well maybe the CAI offsets the gears so everything stays like stock MPG.

well I prolly do a bit more city traffic driving than highway driving.....honestly I would prolly benefit from having 4.10's....might improve my mpg considering I won't be getting to highway speeds around town.
I really really really really want 4.10's and an auburn ....and a CAI and 87 oct tune....honestly call it a day after that as far as performance lol

Get 'em man! And don't do the 87 tune, unless you try a good 93 tune also. If you run them both, you will never want to see that 87 tune every again And, the gas mileage difference isn't all that much between the two tunes anyway. I'm running the Tillman All Out Tune and it's insane.

You can do like me get a 87 and a 93 so when aren't really worrying about performance and realize after a month the price difference in premium is a extra tank of gas, that's why I have both so not stuck paying $3 + a gal especially when I'm gettin ready for 3500 mile trip, little less performance more $$$ for this ole sailor to party with.
