Default Daylight running lights??

Well I was wondering if there was a way to get daylight running lights on my GT. Everytime I drive it I manually turn on my lights and fog. Reason being I like having all lights on, plus the gauges turn blue inside instead of the dull white color when lights are off. Anybody here do the same?? It has become a habit everytime I turn the car on, but would be nice to not worry about it.

Thats a totally different item than what he is suggesting.
Those just cause your orange clearance lights to be on during the day.
"The DRL-1M5 module connects to your turn signals and automatically
controls when they should be on. During the day, they function as DRL's
(Daytime Running Lights), but turn off when you turn on your lights.
The normal turn signal functionality remains intact at all times."

A simple relay hooked to the ignition on or ACC delay would
turn the headlights/fogs on when the key was on and or off
with the key off or after the ACC delay turns off.

You actually turn off a switch/connection to turn on the
headlights. Its a failsafe thing. Totally disconnecting
the headlight switch from the connector causes the low
beams to come on. Bad switch equals low beams (failsafe mode).
Cut that wire and the headlights will be low beam, but
run 24/7. Thats the need for the IGN/ACC DELAY relay.
You need to inturupt the 'headlight off' wire and make the
'fogs on' wire to ground thru two seperate contacts
on a DPDT relay with the ignition switch or ACC delay
powering the relay coil.

Thanx for the responses. I was suggesting the head lights and fogs not the turn signals. I wanted a direct bolt on, but I guess there isnt any. I know some s197's have the daylight running lights stock, I wonder if I could replace the headlight switch box??

thanx, but I rather not go through the hassle. lol. I am good with electronics but dont like messing with my stock wiring. It doesn't bother me enough to wanted me to wire it.

Well my 05 has the factory running lights, but they are not as bright as normal low beams. Plus you still have to turn the lights on to get the fogs to work, and to turn the dash lights on. Nor does it turn on the tail lights. Its just slightly dimmer low beams.

2 ways to get DRL's

1. Go to your Dealership and purchase the DRL Kit
2. Install a relay as Troy mentioned (easy btw)

yep...my Expy has the DRL module installed. When in "D" or "R", the headlights turn on...but dimmer.

When in Neutral or Park, the headlights are off.

I like it alot. I just looked at my Expy purchase invoice and it said the module was only $45

My '09 has DRL, and I wish it didn't. They're so bright in the evening, I often forget to turn the headlights on. I've been told on this board that the dealer can switch them to "OFF" via the on board computer. I've got the ragtop in winter storage, so I haven't checked it out yet. Getting some warranty work done this spring (rear end whine) so I'll see about the DRL's then....
