PREP WORK for PAINTING SIDE MIRRORS PLASTIC
My painter at work was / is going to paint my side mirrors bodycolor for me.
The dealer and paint supply guys have advised against doing this for the reason of not knowing what type of plastic the mirrors are made from, to gaurantee the paint will stick properly...
For those that have painted their mirrors bodycolor, what was your prep for sealing the plastic?. Did you use a Fill-Primer to lose the texture?... and have you had any trouble since you painted them?
Thanks

wth? does't it really matter what type of plastic it is ? If you scuff it up use primer and adhesion promoter it will stick. that out of the way..
I painted them my self, and I sanded them up with 600 grit to reduce some of the texture and help with the promotion. ( I did wash them first ) then washed them again. ( water and dawn is what I used )
Then I did use primer/filler, adhesion promoter , paint and clear.
