Sounds ridiculous right? Well I dont want to make a ***** up of it and discover there was an easier way. This is not HID btw.

Do i have to remove the two red circled bolts and then pull the light unit out? Or am I over-complicating it?

Additionally, how do I remove the plastic lug, circled blue. Is this a case of just getting a flat head screwdriver and easing it out (that's what she said).

Are you talking about the headlight bulb? You shouldn't need to remove anything to get to the headlight bulbs. For the fogs, you need to remove the 2 upper grill bolts so you can tilt the grill forward to get your hand behind the fogs.

Unless the apron on the '10 is larger than the '05-'09s.

 

Yes - the headlight bulb. There's a ton of wires and it's cramped back there so unless my hand was 2D i can't reach back and change it in situ....

 

Any 2010 owners out there care to contribute please??!

 

According to the 2010 owners manual, it should not be a big deal:

From page 66:
Replacing headlamp bulbs
To remove the headlamp bulb:
1. Make sure headlamp switch is in the off position, then open the hood.
2. Disconnect the electrical connector from the bulb by depressing the retainer clip and pulling rearward.
3. Remove the bulb by rotating it counterclockwise and pulling it straight out.

Can you reach better from underneath the car?
