I have no tuners or specialty shops in my area and one of the guys in teh local mustang/lightning club works at Pep Boys so i took it to him. they installed shocks, lowering spring, baer rotors on all four corners, adustable panhard and new brake pads for about $550 which is their normal price. that included an alignment too.

Well, you went to a dealer for a quote. Of course they're going to stick it to you.

I'm not a suspension person, but there is no way that's all going to take 10 hours of work unless they're taking beer breaks in between every step of the way.

I had the small performance shop that installed my headers do my springs, caster camber plates, and alignment for me. They also fixed a rattle in my exhaust and installed my BMR LCA's for me, all for $300. But, I know the guy well and he's friends with my dad, so I'm sure that helped me out. Oh, and all that only took a little over 4 hours of work.

My advice to you is to call around and see if you can find better.

You can do the rear yourself. It is the easiest thing to do to our cars.

The front can be done at a tire shop for about $100-$200.

That is a rip-off...even the perfomance shop in my area charges $450.00...going to do it myself, some bonding time with my Stang

My mechanic charged me 300 or so for a suspension and Steeda UDP install and an additional 60 for an alignment if I remember correctly.

With basic hand tools the whole job can be done in your driveway in about 4 hours... cost ZERO DOLLARS. Just did it 2 weeks ago with my 16 year-old son. Piece of cake!

I'd encourage you to do it yourself, with the help of various How To's on this site. I did my front/ rear suspension, & replace the rear axle over the course of three days. I did have to buy a couple sockets that I didn't own. It's pretty strait forward, you will need to get an professional alignment if you swap out the front struts.
