Default Need advice/help

So I've been in a hole the past year with paying things off and stuff back but im finally getting back on my feet and ive been able to get a few mods done yet lately and my cars really about to take off finally. Performance wise minespretty much stock.

I bought a SCT 3 tuner from brendspeed and that it as far as performance goes.

If I buy a Steeda CAI now will I need another tune? Will it vary from the 93 Race tune I have now from brendspeed? I'm wondering if my car is going to require another tune now that I'm adding a CAI

Help!?!?!?

The tune should be written for the CAI.

What did you tell brenspeed you had upgraded
equipment wise when you bought the SCT tuner?
Are you using a tuner without the benifits of
increased airflow with an aftermarket CAI?
Does this SCT tuner have canned or custom tunes in it?
Usually you buy a tuner standalone and it has canned
tunes for an OEM equipped non CAI vehicle.
It just wakes it up kinda from the OEM timing/fuel tables.

But add a CAI and a dyno tune for that CAI and the fuel
mixture does not go lean and the timing is set for the octaine
of fuel you are running and the Horses comeout of the barn.
So your Steeda CAI will need a DYNO tune written for it
for it to be 100% effective in bringing out the HP for the
amount of $$ laid out. Its best to buy a tuner/CAI combo
like a C&L.
Big question is do you have a CAI now and what type of
tunes are in the SCT and what were they originall written
for when shipped from Brenspeed.
Maybe call your vendor and ask him since he sold it to ya....

If you buy the intake from brenspeed they will supply a tune for free. At least they used to supply free tunes for anything you bought from them as long as all your mods were purchased from them.

I never spoke to anyone just ordered the sct 3 and told them what tunes I wanted.. I told them My car was stock at the time and correct I am running the tune without the CAI right now.
But thats what I was kinda thinking in my head. They shipped me 3 different tunes (not canned) the only 2 I remember were the 91 race tune and the 93 race tune.

+1 on buying the CAI from them and getting the free upgrade tune.

The CAI & tune will add roughly 5 RWHP over where you are with the stand-alone tune.

yeah i unfortunately didnt have the money at the time to get both. but right now i can buy my intake and the 75 dollar tune from them and STILL be cheaper then buying both from them. (possible deal on a Steeda CAI)

and yeah the CAI im sure I will notice. I noticed a big difference in JUST the tuner alone!!
