Unhappy Battery issue - will it bump start?

I have a 2006 GT and per forums the batteries are ****. Well mine died suddenly last night and now there is NO juice to start it. I tried to bump start it a few times with no luck. I never had an issue bump starting a standard before, are these not bumpable? and yes, i was in 2nd.

Thanks in advance for the help!!!

You still need to have enough juice to power the ECU, fuel pump and fuel injectors while you are push starting it.

Can the alternator do that while your being pushed? Let us know.

Buying a new battery will ensure a happy ending.

Finding out what is causing the battery to die is first and foremost or your
new battery will be trashed soon enough and the buying new batteries cycle starts.
Check the alternator for proper output at the proper speed.
The battery is just the bucket. You need to be looking at the
pump (alt) and the amount of holes in the bucket (amperage draw)....

The only reason I was trying to bump start it was to get to the store to get the new battery. Well it wouldn't bump start and after a jump it started up. But get this, I get to Napa, get a battery and am heading home. As I am getting on the freeway the entire car shuts off, no power anything. I get to the side of the freeway and its done, no power at all. I swap the batteries right there and then it starts. I go to auto zone and they confirm the battery is toasted and they test the alternator and claim its putting out about 4 amps. So i get it towed to the dealership and have them look at it. They cant find anything wrong with it!?!?!?! Would the battery cause it to completely shut down like it did on the freeway? Mind you I drove for about 20 minutes then i died???

I believe it was the OP's OE battery that pooped the bed in which case I'd chalk up the battery failure to a 4 y/o stock, MotorCrap battery. But his post begs an answer to being able to push-start an S197 with a dead battery... Can you or can't you? I would have never thought you couldn't.

But then again, it's probably been about 20 or more years since I did.
