It wasn't me specifically, but I remember reading a few threads about it and could be a cause. If you bought both rear tires at the same time, you might want to just check your other one. Chances are they might have similar manufacture dates.

Sorry to hear, must of been a scare of an experience going at those speeds and the tire going out like that.

The other seems fine but then again, thats what i thought about this one :/ I'm gonna end up replacing them all at the same time very soon. It was pretty gnarly tho, good thing is it didnt jerk to the side or anything. As soon as it blew, I let off the gas and threw the hazards on and slowly coasted to the side of the road.

Had it been the front right instead of the rear right, it would have ripped the steering wheel out of your hands at 80MPH and the car would have tried a sharp right turn. Just imagine that, so be thankful.

I can vouch for that heh. You don't want to know what that feels like.

Mine was actually the driver side rear, still tho, that sounds horrible and I hope its something I never have to experience... I did get a little jolt when it happened but, nothing as bad as what Nuke described

Change my "right" remarks to "left" remarks. Which means you'd have turned hard towards oncoming lanes vs. the shoulder. SO glad it was a rear tire.
