So I was driving on the freeway going about 75-80 when outta nowhere I feel something blow up... I check my tires regularly for any signs of problems and I just didn't see any with it for something like this to happen. NITTO 555 went to hell on me
I've had a falcon tire do that to me. The tire shop said that the walls of the tire is so thick that a flat tire might seem like a tire thats low on air and i've been . IDK if his explanation is true, but thats the only explanation i ever got
i had a NITTO redline do that to me a couple years ago, only had 5,000 miles on it. not on the stang though. your rim is in good condition considering what happened, mine was ruined.
Had a stock BFG KDWS do that like 2 weeks after we bought the car turns out it had a hole in it about the center of the tread looked exactly the same. I guess it must have been flat but you couldn't tell cause the sidewall is so stiff and short. It just overheated and let go at about 80 mph. I always keep a tire gauge in the car and check it regularly.
damn that really sucks man sorry to hear. did the tires blownin up wrech you fender at all
My fender is still in good shape as is my rim, luckily. Alot of the black stuff on the fender has come off

I was lucky to be in front of a friend of mine in a convoy lol thankfully there wasn't a semi near me. Highway 99 is heavy traffic and if it'd been a front tire, I dont think things would have went as smoothly so I'm counting my blessings
How old was that tire?? Did you check the date code on the tire just in case?
Was it you that I read about the shop wanting to give you an old tire? Anyhow, I've had them installed for a little over 2 years now. I didnt check the date of the tire at the time
