Default Valvoline synthetic for gears any good?

I'm getting my Gears installed this week and I asked the shop keep what brand oil they use. He said valvoline synthetic, I know most people here use RP but will valvoline suffice or should I flip for RP? thanx

I don't know about either, but if the shop recommends one brand I would follow that. Simple reasoning is that if you have ANY problems you can go back and say "I followed your recommendations to the letter." and save a lot of grief. That way you eliminate the old "You must have used the wrong oil and caused this problem."

this is true! I guess sometimes we like to over think things.
