clutch
clutches typically don't grind but if it's not disengaging fully when you try to shift then it'll cause your tranny to grind.
typically when a clutch is going the most noticeable sign it that it won't hold the power. so if you have it in gear with the clutch fully engaged if you floor it and it doesn't hold then you have a problem.
if it holds the power but you have trouble going in and out of gear it could be something else. on my S2000 a common issue was needing to bleed the clutch valve thingy or you would have trouble fully disengaging the clutch to shift gears.

this is the problem i took it for warranty work on my second gear syncro they said the 1st was also messed up i asked them are u sure cause it works fine to me so they went ahead and did it now i have problems with my first gear syncro it wont go in right and sometimes it wont go into first gear going 10mph and they said its my clutch but last week they told me my clutch is fine
in my ford explorer my springs went bad in my clutch and had to be replaced. i could feel and hear weird noises with the clutch pedal when I pushed it down with my foot. I never heard any grinding noises though.

Are they now going to tear into it again to try to fix it on their dime?? I sure hope so...
I would seriously consider getting help from a dealership that does diagnostic work before blindly replacing parts, but that just my opinion.
Holy cow, it sounds like you need to get to a different dealer...

well it turns out that now my clutch and flywheel are gone according to them so they wont go into the syncrhos until i replaced it,i told them why did u tell me it was fine a week ago and he had no answer,i have to pay 2,000 to get it replaced and once its replaced if it still grinds then they will check the syncrho
But HOLY COW, $2000.00 !! you are joking, right? Because that is way way overpriced for a clutch job. All clutch parts plus flywheel can be bought for less than $300.00 easy. That 2,000 is just an outright ripoff.
Check anywhere - that price is pure BS.
They are just trying to make you pay for the repair one way or another...
yeah screw them i have to pay to get it out so i can fix her at some shop it was gonna cost me 580 but i got them down to 150 but i dont know what clutch to go with i still have a feeling that the syncrho is broke sometimes when i was at a light and tried going into 1st it would get stuck halfway it would take a lot of strength to get it in is there a site where i can buy an oem clutch
