Default 8.8 for 7.5 rear end swap. HELP!

Ok so I have all the right parts. The rear end, bought the cobra flange to install on the rear so it would bolt up to the v6 drive shaft. Dropped the old rear end moved the new one in place bolted it all into place and then we got to bolting the drive shaft into place and we are a inch short! Shouldn't this swap be a direct bolt on? I don't understand if ths is a gt take off how is the driveshaft a inch short? Did we miss somethig here? If anyone can give some help would be greatly appreciated. I have a 06 4.0 pony package indont think the drive shaft is different then the regular 4.0 driveshafts. Help please!

Your stock drive shaft has a splined slip joint. Just pull on the back half and bolt it up to the pinion flange.

Did you install the Cobra flange yourself? The procedure is very critical so that you don't sieze up the bearings.

Eah we got the flange on and set the pinion in it. That's fine. But what I am saying is that the flange that is connected to the driveshaft won't reach the rear end. I am about an inch short.

Did you pull on the slip joint?
