Got my Kaenan 3" cowl
#22
Thanks everyone! I'm itchin like crazy to get this thing painted and installed. What is the average time to have a hood painted from start to ready for install?
When I was little, the kids used to tease me and call me elephant boy. I would curl up at night with my 3rd leg and cry.
That's good to know. My hood looks perfect. Doesn't look warped or anything. I'll probably just get it painted before fitting and save the hassle. It'll be hard for me to test fit the hood anyway since I have no able bodied people to help me.
I was looking at your sig and your hood looks great with the stripes. I think it's because your cowl is wider at the front of the hood. I've thought about it and I'm not going to stripe mine. I think having "painted" hood stripes would clash with my "vinyl" CS side stripes. All stripes should be either painted on or all vinyl and not both, IMO.

Thanks! I think there's a pic floating around here somewhere with a driver's perspective from another member (loots06). I'll take one anyway.

dude don't let that stop you. I test fitted my hood by myself. Just use alot of towels around the edges and bolt her up. Its not to hard.

you are not going to be happy if you get this thing painted and then it needs some work and then you have to pay again to have it resprayed, but if you have money to just blow like that then go ahead and paint it first, its just money!

How did you unbolt it yourself without it falling over? I would think two people needs to hold each side of the hood while you unbolt it.

all I did was open the hood. Then shoved a bunch of towels on the backside of the hood. Pretty much on top of the windshield. Then just unbolt one side at a time letting it fall on top of the towels.

Nice! If Eddies is going to paint and install, take your car down and have them do the pre-paint fitting. They would do the same if you dropped the car off with the hood for paint. Shouldn't cost you anything but your time.
