Default Thinking about switch CAI

Currently I have the C&L aluminum CAI but everytime I work on my car after driving around I notice how hot the intake tube gets because its aluminum. I was considering switching to the tuneable inductions CAI since its all plastic which should be cooler and I have heard good things about them. Any opinions on this switch?

That is one thing I miss about Bama chips...he had a C&L with the smaller diameter of the street CAI but with the inlet tube of the Racer one (or vice versa) for just that reason.

FYI, Airaid makes Roush CAI, it's the same exact intake, but cheaper....

It's hot because the underhood air gets hot during stop-and-go driving. And that same hot underhood air is being sucked into the engine during this time, regardless of the type of material the CAI inlet tube is made from. This has been proven with data logging by several different Mustang owners. In fact, the stock air intake had the highest IAT(inlet air temperature), and it's made entirely of plastic.
However, check it after doing some highway driving, and you'll see that it's only slightly warm to the touch.

Thanks^ Ford basically told me the same thing and not to switch, not much of any difference. And aluminum looks better to me....

I'm getting the C&L Racer for that reason, and I personally like the black plastic over the aluminum
