But then the higher you go the more low end power is lost, right? Basically I want the one that will give me the fastest acceleration. Sorry for the noob questions.

I like your way of thinking about the ENCS. It makes sense to go with them especially when I can get out of it at anytime. Thanks for your input! It really helped. Be safe out there man.
Yeah, the 3.73 is for faster acceleration. That's all I know though, others in here will have to give the details of it.

You nailed it!

The details are, that is all he knows.

It's sad really.

Shorter gears (numerically higher) will increase acceleration at the cost of top speed per gear (and overall) and fuel economy due to the higher RPM at a given speed. 3.73s in a 2011, accounting for the different ratios in the 5-speed tranny of the 05-10s, means a set of 4.10s in a '10/-. 3.55s for '11 are equivalent to 3.73s in a '10/-. So look up threads about driveability for the older cars' ratios to get an idea. And don't forget, there's another damn near 100HP being tossed into the equation. IMHO, with 3.73s, 1st is going to be utterly useless on stock tires.

You invoice prices are screwy, though. Check out the invoice pirces listed on Edmunds.

Your table is edited below to include dealer invoice prices.

Item MSRP My price Invoice

Car $32,845 $32,050 $30,265
Owner's Protection $1205 $1205 $1,205
Freight $850 $850 $850
Del. Point Processing $250 $250 $0
3.55 $395 $364 $344
Sec. Pkg $395 $364 $344
Comf. Pkg $595 $548.5 $518
Brembo $1695 $1562 $1,475
Elec Pkg $2340 $2156 $2,038
HID $525 $483.5 $457
Glass roof $1995 $1838 $1,736
Rear Cam $240 $221 $335
401A $395 $364 $344
Advertising $0 $0 ~$500
Fuel $0 $0 ~$50
Military Discount $0 $2,000 $0

Total $43,725 $40,256 $40,461

So, your purchase at $40,256 is $205 under invoice, assuming purchase of the extended warranty remains at the same price. That is a good deal.
Yeah the ENCS guys are all civilians, and all Irish. It was explained to me that the guy that runs the ENCS program is Irish, and likes to hire fellow Irishmen. Makes sense. Thanks for clearing up the prices; I never did figure out what invoice actually was. I would be willing to pay a lot to not have to deal with a dealer (no offense to dealer people here, your presence here means you're not the ones I'm worried about), so $200 under invoice makes me happy. And that rebate's only gonna go up in the future!

However, it isn't a 0% loan. The money paid is a 0% return on investment prior to purchase. (Here, hold my money for me.)
I prefer to think of it as money I won't be paying 5.15% interest on in a year. It all gets counted as a down payment.

I disagree. If you're a hardcore racer, get the 3.73s. If you're going to use it as a DD or otherwise practical uses, I'd stick with the 3.55s.

Jesus, that loaded out one is north of 40k? Thats a stones throw from Corvette money, so the decision would be very easy for me on that...

Okay, so now I'm confused (not difficult you say...)

Yesterday you posted the Mustang will be purchased next March.

Today you posted you bought it 90 days ago.

Use the time machine much?

The mustang has a much better interior (especially for $40K) than the Vette ever will, and the Mustang is a much more practical vehicle. Nothing against the Vette; it is a fantastic vehicle, but it is also a very single-purpose vehicle. It has no back seats and a laughable trunk, its suspension is - how you say - very sports oriented, and the price differential gets quite a bit wider once you see how much insurance is for one of those things.

That having been said, if you want a corvette, get a corvette. If you're throwin' down cash on a vehicle, what your heart says matters just as much as what your brain says. Go with your first instinct; it's usually right. You don't want to buy a mustang and spend the whole time going "damn, wish I'd bought the vette instead!" Or vice versa.

I purchased it on Feb. 13th, 2010.

I am taking delivery of it on March 18th, 2011.

I get back stateside in Feb. of 2011. My birthday happens to be March 18th. I figured it'd be a nice birthday present for myself.
