Default a/c issues

well to start off I have an 06 gt with 72k miles on it and never had any issues till just last week when I turned on the a/c...when at a stop it didn't blow cold air and when I come to a stop I normally take it out of gear and use the brakes to stop. now after taking it out of gear I normally drop to 500ish rpm and return to normal idle rpm of 650. but lately with the a/c on when I take it out of gear to stop my car just doesnt recover and will die. had the a/c recharged, cleaned the throttle body, maf sensor, filter and reloaded my tune. all of that done the car runs a lot better! it hasn't died yet when coming out of gear nor does the a/c blow just air when stopped but it doesn't freeze you when it's on like it use to...can anyone please help me out?

The idle usually notches down a little when the a/c compressor kicks in. If it's not pumping cold air and killing your idle, I'd check the compressor first. Also check the idle air control valve. It may just need to be cleaned.

first off thank yall

freon was low and I had it filled, that's what I meant when I said I had the a/c recharged

anywho I cleaned the iac vlv today and my problem is gone! wierd to me that the iac would allow the a/c to blow cold air, maybe it just took time for the freon to cycle through?

when you had the a/c system recharged did you or the shop you took your vehicle to also perform a vacuum and leak test? Was there or is there enough PAG oil in the a/c system? I also agree on checking the compressor itself for its condition.
