Why the 5.0 over a 370z?
I'm 20 and my Ford dealership took me seriously when I went in. Depends on the sales guy and the dealership really..
No offense to anyone on here, but seriously who really cares about handling? I know if I owned the 5.0 as much as I would love to bring it on a track I know it would never happen, and you just cant drive normal roads like you can a track - but on long straight roads you can easily give it the gas and experience that feeling... so that's all I really care about. I guess the handling thing is more of just a "yeah it can handle, but I never use it for that purpose" sort of thing (at least for me, but I would think 90% of other owners probably would use it the same way as I would...)
Even if I had a Lotus Elise or something I probably wouldn't take it to the track (simply because there isn't one around) but just realistically how many people regularly go to tracks where handing is very important on their cars? The only ones I really know of mostly have cars they build specifically for the tracks... in which case you would upgrade the suspension and stuff like that to handle anyways, regardless of what car you have.

I hardly get on it in straight lines, I love to go fast on back roads and do it regularly so I guess I'm in the 10%, now that I look back on it I probably would of bought a Z if I could of gotten a better deal on it.

Basically, +1 IMO I'd rather have the torque and power. Easier and safer to play with. Good point Max
No matter what, the 370z will not be as much fun or mad as a 5.0 mustang would. The 370 is refined, the mustang still has that "I don't care about my so-so brakes or solid rear axle, I still kick *** and hold my own," factor.
And there is just nothing that can beat that symphony of 8 cylinders firing. Yes, my 05gt is going to be outdone by a lot of V6's, today and in the future. But as soon as I step on that gas, people look and think: "That's what a real car sounds like,"

Geez dude, haven't you ever played Need for Speed???? The Tuner Class cars always out handle any of the muscle class cars, no matter what car it is. DUUUU!!!! HA HA HA
Most people do not have the ability to drive a car to it's potential anyway, they just think they can. I live in the country and we have nothing but curves. It's fun to carve corners, but If someone is driving a car hard enough on a public highway to "need" the amount of difference in handling then they are probably going to hurt themselves, someone else, or loose their license.
