Default SEQUENTIAL PROBLEM

ok so recently i discovered that 2 of my passeneger side tail lights were out. shortly after, the sequential on the driver's side stopped working and it only did the normal 2 panel flash.

i decided to replace all 6 bulbs. when i finished, the driver's side sequential worked fine, but none of the bulbs on the passenger side were firing. so i took the tail light out and disconnected theh arness and connected it again, and it worked fine. at that point i ptu the nuts back on the assembly.

now the passenger side stopped working again. so i was wondering if anyone knew that trick to "reset" the lights or whatever. or maybe tell me if they had similar experiences?

What brand of kit do you have? That would be helpful to other members.

I've seen issues with dirty harness connections. The fact that you resolved one side by disconnecting and reconnecting seems to confirm that was an issue for you. Before anything else, try disconnecting the side that's not working and spraying both halves of the connectors with contact cleaner. IMMEDIATELY reconnect and disconnect the halves multiple times to "wipe" the contacts. If that doesn't resolve the issue, then at least you can rule out those contacts.

Contacts can form a very thin, almost non-perceptible oxide layer. It wouldn't surprise me if exhaust gases build up in those panels to some degree.

All you need to do is remove the panels to access the connectors.

If they appear clean, they are clean enough.
Plug n Play or splice in kit with IDC connectors?
