N/A mods
What are somethings too do to my brothers 06 Gt to make it a good street strip car. We are in CA so most would have to be smog Legal. We already have the Steeda Tuner and intake. The dyno said it was at 250Whp not tuned because the guy told my brother he should wait to pay for a tune until he got everything he wanted.
I'm not sure of the smog rules & regulations so ignore my suggestions if they don't comply:
Long tube headers
Nitrous
Supercharger - there are some that comply with CA rules
Underdrive pullies
4.10 or 3.73 gears
Fatter, stickier tires
Lower control arms
Lowering springs
Etc.

Last I checked, there weren't any CA legal long tubes. Also, be wary of catted x or h pipe upgrades. A coworker of mine failed the sniff test with a Bassani Catted X-pipe.
The Steeda intake is 50 state legal. According to the info I got from Brenspeed last year, the 87 octane tune should pass smog. Brenspeed or Bama will give you 3 tunes. you can swap back and forth between tunes as many times as you need to.
There are several 50 state legal superchargers. This is the way to go. There aren't any 50 state legal cams. I think there may be one or two 50 state legal nitrous kits, so that's a less expensive alternative. Nitrous is always riskier if you are a novice. Be sure to seek extensive consultation if you decide to go the nitrous route. Bottom line is that power adders will get you the most HP legally. I have yet to see a 50 state legal turbo.
Get 4.10's if you are building a street/strip car. If you don't do any highway driving, you may even want to consider 4.30's. The goal is to finish the 1/4 mile at redline in 4th gear. I believe 4.30's will be close. Maybe someone with 4.30's can chime in here.
Sorry, you did say N/A mods in the subject so I guess power adders are out. However, you will be limited as aftermarket heads, cams and full length headers are not CA legal. There may be some heads out there that fit the bill, but without cams you won't be able to appreciate the full benefits of aftermarket heads...and top HP making cams are not legal in CA.
if I get a super charger is the whipple the best? I really love the sound of it with the whine unless thats the kenne bell? looking to make around 450 to the wheels as I heard thats the most the stock motor can take, I think.
