My 10 GT is the ninth new car i've owned, all manuals.
Don't be afraid of it, heck, my mother-in-law drives a standard Toyota (86 years old)!
All I can offer is encouragement. Like it had been said, after a few days, you will get the hang of it.
When I teach someone to drive a stick, the first thing I do is make sure they understand all the components involved and how they work. Knowing why you have to do something makes it easier to do it.
Go manual, you will not regret it.
Nuke, you're a dirty old man...;-)

I have an 05 V6 (5 speed) and the clutch is a good bit heavier/stiffer than the other 5 speeds I have driven. From what I heard, the 2005 clutches are a bit stiffer than the newer models. However, I haven't driven any to compare.
My wife's VW Passat is super light compared to my Stang. I don't drive in heavy traffic and I only travel 3.7 miles from my house to the office.
5-speed cars:
1. 87 Toyota Celica (learned to drive a 5 speed)
2. 95 Grand Am
3. 98 Ford Explorer Sport
4. 99 Mustang V6
5. 2000 VW Passat
Give it a shot and once you learn, you will be hooked! It's nice to be able to drop down in gears and pick up speed when you want!
Good luck!

If you use to a automatic, keep in mind your driving a 5spd because I'd bet money you’re going to come to a head jarring stop.(forgetting to press the clutch) It's the opposite for me, I forget when I'm driving a automatic and sometimes when I leave from a light I try to grab 2nd and end up slamming the brakes.

Dont know if your getting a 5.0 or 3.7 but the V6 has a lot lower trans gears so its likely a wash anyway.
2011 5.0 has a very light clutch so thats a non-issue.
With 3.55 gears it makes enough torque to idle out in 1st or 2nd, I have taken off in 4th a couple of times due to inattention (without stalling it). If you use 1st to start off in the beginning the low trans gears and V8 torque will make it almost to easy to learn.
PS You have to push down on the shift **** to release the reverse lockout.

HOPE it's stock cuz if its tuneD THE throttle will be very touchy making it a bit trickier to learn on. GL OP once you learn, driving an auto feels feel awkward. You look for the clutch and sh*t ain't there lmao.
