Default Need Advice, Question about my Bama Tune and Firm Shifts...

Hey guys I just have a quick question about my tunes.

I purchased a cold air intake and tunes from bamachips months ago (2007 V6 Mustang Auto 93 torque/race/Performance). Driving with the tunes I've noticed that the car shifts very firmly with a slight delay between shifts. Is this normal? I've read on forums that the bama tunes tend to make the car shift more firmly but is it possible that it is to much? Or is that how it is supposed to feel? Am I just being paranoid?

I actually brought the car into the shop to check the transmission and they said there were no codes; they did replace the solenoid pack but the car feels the same to me. I'm not the most technical when it comes to cars, just afraid for my transmission so I thought I would ask you guys.

I love my car and I don't want to do any damage to it, I can't wait to hear your advice.

P.S. I also fired an email our to bamachips to see what they say.

Thanks!

SoOlid shifts are good. Generally, a transmission's number 1 enemy is heat. When the bands in the transmission do not engage immediately they slip causing more heat. This leads to excess wear and premature failure. A harder shifting transmission will generally last longer. It puts more strain on other parts but with you your V6, you shouldn't worry. Enjoy the ride.

There obviuosly is alot more info on the subject, but in a nutshell, that's the answer.

I have seen posts where some GT/Autos were having trans issues with Bama tunes.
Some believed the shift pressures were too high.
I experimented with my shift pressures and discovered that a setting of -15% was my preferred setting. So yes, I backed the pressure off and got a better shift.

You could contact Bama/AM and talk to them directly and they can adjust it for you. I run Brenspeed on an automatic and the firm shifting is great.

I have Bama tunes on my car, and I am going to be honest here. I don't know if I am getting older and more boring, but the car shifts and launches like it has been shot in the a**. I mean HARD. It's kind of comical, it has the least hp of the bunch and has the most attitude. Seriously, sometimes I wonder if the car is getting after it too hard?
