Step backwards probably wasn't the correct term, maybe a big step forward would be more accurate. What I like about the 05 to 09 was the retro looks both of the interior and exterior. I don't like what Ford did with the interior or the back end of the new car. to modern for me. 412 hp is nice but with the compression as high as it is supercharging may be a challenge. It's still a damn nice car, but so is the Camaro.

the interior is much better on the 2010+, design-wise thats subjective but quality there is no question of the improvement.

That's probably because I'm not the full time driver. When my wife drives it, she most likely drives like the grandma she is. I'm sure that helps the gas mileage figure remain so high. Now, don't anybody tell her I said that! LOL!

The looks are the car are certainly a "to each his/her own" kind of thing. I personally like the new body and interior better than my 07. I also find the overall quality to be superior to the 07. Obviously I now own a 2011 so I MAY be biased.
Also, I think they've already supercharged the 5.0 on the GT350.

the best thing about the new 5.0's ... besides the 412 stock HP... is so much MORE CAR FOR THE MONEY. the interior and exterior are amazing, handling is great, and come with blind spot mirrors...

plus the MPG IS awesome. So stop thinking about the .1 - .5 second difference... you can fix that with minor upgrades and still have a **** ton more car.

Where did you read a stock auto 5.0 will run 12.7? The one I drove would be lucky to hit 13.5. It felt more like low 14s.

The manual 5.0 I drove did feel like a high 12s/low 13s car with 3.73 gears.

My daily driver (08 LS4 V8 GXP) runs mid 13s & my Son's stock 2000 Camaro SS runs 13.1 so I have a pretty good feel on how quick cars are. My 33+ years of legal drag racing may help a bit too.

What dealership? That would almost be worth a roadtrip if we did ending going with a Mustang.

no way even with experience you can 'feel' the difference between 13.5 and 12.7 seconds. It might be because the 2011s are extremely comfortable and are solidly built.

Actual there is a noticable difference between a 12.7 & 13.5 car.

The 2011 Mustangs are very solid & handle awesomely. The seats are better than what they were but not as near comfortable or as supportive as the Camaro.

If I had the room to park them I'ld probably buy both. I already have 8 cars so parking is at a premium.

I definitely can tell between a 12.7 run and a 13.5 run when I go to the drag strip.. I sometimes like to call it on my drive back before I get the time slip.

Most of the time. I am right

Your 08 gxp has an ls3 doesnt it? and it should definitely be faster then a 2000 camaro ss (if said ss is stock) I love those g8s.

And the auto mustang 5.0 is definitely a low 13 second car.
