Default Non-Mustang Car help needed

*MOD's....please feel free to move this thread to the appropriate category*

Went to start my 2006 Suzuki Reno today and it wouldn't shift into park. It doesn't make the noise it usually makes when pushing in the brake pedal (i'm assuming to unlock the shifter). I had to walk to work this morning and I need advice. Is this something I can fix myself (not very mechanical) or is this something a dealership needs to do? Also, is there any way to bypass it just so I can drop it off at the dealership rather than having to pay to get it towed? Any help would be awesome. Thanks guys

First thing it look in the manual, there should be a mechanical bypass.
Second thing if you plan to keep it for a while, go to a Suzuki forum, as they will have more info readily available.
