Sorry Mook, but you're wrong.
meh..It's all opinions I suppose. Of course I'm wrong. At least until that day comes that it falls off. My point is simply with a bolt on it's a non issue and you'll never need to even worry about it.

I'm sorry but I see nowhere in the 05-09 roush spoiler installation guide where is says "nah, you don't need the screws we provide, tape is good enough..."

You say Roush guys like they all just taped them on like it's a bad install club or something.

Do you remember when you said this?

It doesn't quite seem like an opinion, but more like one of life's irrefutable truths. So I called you out.

I don't know whether or not you have replaced a spoiler on an 05+ mustang, but the adhesive that you have to remove from the stock spoiler is a PITA to get off and it holds extremely well despite its small contact area. Now, take a ducktail spoiler and look at that contact area. See what I'm getting at? If not, take a look here:

That's a lot of tape, and that tape is strong! (Also notice the lack or screws, bolts, or similar hardware.)

I've seen bad spoiler installs with all different makes of spoilers (Roush and 3D Carbon included). Deciding not to drill into your car to mount a spoiler doesn't make it a bad install. Some people don't want to drill into their car for many reasons. I wouldn't drill into my car for ducktail, that's for sure.

I understand that there are certain ones that don't require it. That doesn't make it a good idea. Neither does the fact that yours hasn't happened to have fallen off. 3m is GREAT. But it does have it's issues whether you install it right or not.

All it takes is some water seepage under it and it will grow until the tape fails and you'll never even see it coming. If your logic was correct NOBODY would bother drilling holes to bolt spoilers. 3m alone is great for some external parts but not a spoiler that is designed have force applied to it at high speeds imo.

We can agree to disagree...

The tape's primary application is for all sorts of automotive use including lightweight spoilers.

But I will agree that there's no convincing either one of us otherwise.
