bolt ons or not

bolt ons or not
ok so my car is def my dd and i got 60.5k miles on it. I've gotten mixed reviews about supercharging it because thats quite a bit of miles on it. I know i will be stuck with this car about 2 to 3 more years if not a little longer. I'm thinking about adding full bolt ons but is this safer than going sc'd. I'm no hardcore racer but enjoy getting on it from time to time. If i get the works: cams, headers, midpipe, ud pulleys, cmdp and gears will this be fine for a dd or will it shorten the life of my engine. I dont want to worry about blowing anything and supercharger obviously will shorten the life. Also, it would probably be 6 months or so before I could even get a s/c so i will just be adding bolt ons left and right. any advice plz. And on a side note, i want kooks headers/midpipe. Is there much of a performance difference between their catted x pipe and their catted h pipe. I dont want an offroad pipe and like the sound of an h better but a lil more interested in performance. (sorry, i suck when it comes to knowledge about this stuff)

It really comes down to how you maintain your car and how you have it set up. If you have it set to a moderate psi, it could last for a while. But if you tune/drive it aggressively and neglect maintenance, it won't. Same goes for other mods. Bolt ons are in most cases "safer" but it really depends. And 60k isn't a whole lot. The 4.0s and 4.6 have shown to be pretty reliable

ya i've heard good things about how these engines can rack up alot of miles, I just didnt want to get like 70 to 80k miles and put full bolt ons and then my engine goes. If i did go supercharged i want the vortech one from brenspeed for like 3800. how many miles have some people gone with a supercharger problem free.

The bolt ons that you want will be fine for a daily driver. They will definately make the car more enjoyable to drive, and add some nice gains. You will gain a lot more if you decide to go FI, and if done with a conservative tune, will last just fine. Even with your milage. You will only gain 2-4 hp more with a catted X over a catted H.

Well im sure someone else will chime in shortly about supercharging. I beleive if the boost is not too high then supercharging can be safe. I believe that the cars engine would not be weak if regular scheduled oil changes was a part of its history. So i would think you would be fine supercharging. U can blow a brand new motor if the boost is to high. And if ur not going to get on it much u should fine. The bolt ons will be a bit more expensive if you that route
