Park the Mustang....believe me I put mine into a guardrail two years ago. The deep snow pulled me into a guardrail that I could not avoid unless I wanted to spin it around and cause more damage than I a did. My suggestion an S10, it's what I bought and it served a dual purpose all year long.

Basically we have to be talking the same "snow". Dusting to 2 inches, regularly plowed, in town type area is much different than a foot, in the middle of nowhere, on a steep incline.

Ppl tend to look at me funny when they ask about my "supplies" Carry sand, shovel, extra clothes/boots, water, straps, flashlights, hazard tape. I'd rather be safe than sorry, and have helped a bunch of ppl stuck and they were glad I had it.
If the ABS is kicking in for braking purposes, then the stability control will also be kicking in if you are powering down in another gear, provided the same rate of deceleration. My point is, traction is limited the same no matter which way you decelerate.

I agree with you, 1 foot is a lot different than 2 inches and driving over unplowed mountains. Thought we were talking more of a suburb, Ohio/Indiana type commute here with the appropriate snow falls for our area?

I also agree with you on supplies, on my 100 mile commute every day, I always have snow clothes, blankets, boots, sand bags, flashlights and other gear just in case I get stuck or the car breaks down.

I put the Mustang in the garage when it snows, even though they clean the roads pretty good and quick around here ( I live in NYC ). I have an 05 Impala that I drive in the snow. It's also a good car that I use when it's not snowing incase I need more room...It looks good too
